First & foremost, I want to say thanks to everyone that tuned in to read this little blog. It’s a lot of fun receiving emails and messages saying that an article helped someone be more successful on the water. I started writing these articles for that reason only, and it was a very enjoyable little campaign.
Last year I began receiving messages asking how people could come up to the interior of BC and fish for a few days while receiving instruction on their casting and techniques. This sparked a bit of interest inside my head, and long story short pushed me to start a guiding operation.
While FFC will be no longer, I will transfer the blog articles from here to our new site at www.interiorflyfishingco.com. Upon returning home from a 120 day guide season, I essentially quarantined myself for two months with nothing but a laptop (save for a short steelhead trip to Vancouver Island). I studied, studied some more, passed my angling guide exam, almost threw my laptop off the balcony on multiple occasions while trying to learn the in’s and out’s of WordPress, but it is all paying off now.
It’s a LOT of work and an intimidating gamble starting a company, but I know exactly what sort of a situation I want and I believe that life is too short to settle for mediocrity. I am expecting a new little girl in February, I’m getting married in June, life will be very busy and I can’t fathom the idea of not being able to continue to take people fishing in order to make a living.
So thank you to everyone who took the time to read our little articles over the last 8 or so months, here’s to a new chapter! For more info head to www.interiorflyfishingco.com, I have set up not only a guiding service but a hosted destination travel program including trips to Ambergris Caye, Belize and Tarponville Lodge in Costa Rica during the first part of 2019. Onwards and upwards!
